De Montfort University are looking to Recruit a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. This Fellowship is also part of and funded through the British Council’s What Works approach in International Cultural Heritage Protection which aims to support better outcomes for cultural heritage protection and local communities by bringing the best available evidence and learning to practitioners and other decision makers across the international sector. The Fellowship is part of the International Heritage Protection and Sustainable Development Research Fellowship Scheme funded by the British Council and DCMS.

Role

As a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Research Fellow, you will be responsible for developing and bringing to completion the research project “Cultural Heritage in The Occupied Territories as a Means to Peace”, exploring the potential of Palestinian heritage as a means to peace through tourism, under the supervision of Dr Giuliana Tiripelli and Dr Rami Isaac. The Fellowship is part of the International Heritage Protection and Sustainable Development Research Fellowship Scheme funded by the British Council.

Ideal Candidate

To be successful, you will have been awarded a PhD in a relevant discipline, demonstrate your experience within qualitative research; have the ability to speak Palestinian Arabic and speak and write in English; have familiarity with conflict areas experience of fieldwork in divided or oppressed communities.

This post is a 12 month fixed term contract.
