The Information Systems area of the Business School of the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for tenure-track faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Assistant Professor of Information Systems position is an academic year (9-month) tenure-track position in Information Systems. This position entails teaching, research, and service. The start date for this position is August 2023.
Job responsibilities:
The successful candidate is expected to maintain a record of accomplishment with high-quality peer-reviewed published academic research in his/her field. The position consists of 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service. The normal teaching load consists of 4 courses per year. This is typically reduced to 3 courses during the initial years of the appointment. Classes may be on-campus, online, or in a hybrid format, depending on departmental or program needs. The successful candidate is expected to reside in the Denver metro area.
Successful candidates will be an integral part of programs and instruction for the Information Systems area. They should feel comfortable teaching undergraduate and graduate students (BSBA with Information Systems Major, MBA or MS Information Systems). Candidates may be tasked with teaching and/or developing courses related to some of the following topics Systems Analysis and Design, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, programming languages such as JavaScript and Python, Database Management Systems, Business Intelligence, Data Mining, or Information Technology Management and Strategy.

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for an Assistant Professor is $130,000-$150,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- A Ph.D. or DBA in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a terminal degree in a field closely related to Information Systems from an AACSB accredited (or equivalent) University satisfies a terminal degree requirement.
Preferred qualifications:
- Demonstrated effectiveness in research, as evidenced by publications in refereed journals, presentations at academic conferences, or other intellectual contributions. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, as supported by teaching evaluations and at least one academic year of experience (two semesters or three quarters) teaching in Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related field. Instructional experiences while a student (e.g., a teaching assistantship) can demonstrate teaching effectiveness only when the applicant was serving as the primary Instructor for the course. Serving as a tutor, grader, periodic guest lecturer, or similar roles cannot be used to demonstrate teaching effectiveness.
