Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 519106), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree with a strong research background in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Biochemistry, Artificial Intelligence or related disciplines.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English; strong communication skills; a demonstrated track record of publishing academic research papers; self-motivation with a hardworking attitude; and the ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team.  They should also have research experience in the field of computational biology, machine learning through advanced programming (Matlab, Python or R); a high level of expertise in analysis of large and complex datasets.  Work experience in AI based bioinformatics are preferred. 

The appointee will join an internationally active team of researchers to perform data analysis on computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, cytomics and next-generation sequencing to identify genetic and cytome biomarker; and carry out integrative mechanistic studies in a collaborative environment.  Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Dr. Shirley Li at sxueli@hku.hk.
