Job Description

The research engineer will work on a research project related maritime resource scheduling. The project includes mathematical model building by means of integer programming, stochastic programming and robust optimization techniques, effective solution algorithm design (exact algorithms and heuristics), and numerical experiments.

Job Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor or Master in Transportation, Automation, Operations Research, Electronics Information Science and Technology
• Research experience in developing large-scale integer optimization models and algorithm design for the discrete optimization problems.
• Strong ability to use at least one programming language, e.g., Python, Java, C# and C++, and capability to sophisticatedly use the optimization solvers like CPLEX and Gurobi.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good written and spoken communication
• Good team work and leadership, self-manage and motivated, with minimum supervision.
• Research experience on resource allocation, job scheduling and dynamic stochastic programming.
• Good publication record in top transportation and/or OR journals.
• Open to fixed-term contract
