Applications are invited for a Temporary - 12 months post of a Research Assistant, Diagnostic Veterinary Parasitology within UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.
UCD's Veterinary Parasitology Diagnostic Laboratory serves UCD Veterinary Hospital and external veterinary practitioners by carrying out a range of tests on faecal, blood and skin samples from farm, companion and exotic animals. In addition, the diagnostics lab supports academic research projects in veterinary parasitology. Both the research and diagnostic parasitology activities contribute to the teaching mission of the School.
We now wish to recruit a research assistant to aid in the development and implementation of new diagnostic procedures arising from our academic research portfolio. The person appointed will have the opportunity to enhance their laboratory skills, gain experience of working in a busy diagnostic laboratory, and participate in cutting-edge research. They will benefit from mentoring and supervision by four academic staff, all of whom are research-active, a highly experienced veterinary parasitology senior technical officer, and a Chief Technical Officer. Opportunities will also be provided for conference participation and other formal and informal learning opportunities.
Salary: 28,701 - 29,498 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
