Research Assistant

Job Description

One position is available for a full-time Research Assistant (RA) in the project “Efficient Multiple-Precision Computation of Special Functions for Applied Scientists“.

We seek a talented researcher for this position, with expertise in computational physics methods and algorithms. We seek an experienced researcher with strong mathematical and computational physics background. Proficiency in developing numerical algorithms and computer codes using scientific computing languages such as Fortran 90, 95, C++, Matlab, etc. is required.

Duties include conducting research and developing algorithms and computer codes under the supervision of the PI, preparing manuscripts reporting research results for publication in international indexed journals and assistance in all relevant matters of research.

Funding is available for two years, however, the appointment will be initially for one year with a possibility of extension for the second year depending upon satisfactory performance.

The package includes a monthly salary of 7000-8000 AED (depending upon qualification and experience, 1 USD~3.673 AED) in addition to medical health insurance.

Minimum Qualification

Proficiency in using languages for scientific computing such as Fortran 90, Matlab and C++.

Preferred Qualification

MSc in Physics, Mathematics or closely related field. Having experience or willingness to translate developed computer codes to Python and Julia.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience

BSc in Physics, Mathematics or any closely related field.
