About the Role

An opportunity has become available for a Project Coordinator, International Students Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to join our WIL Transformation Project team. This is a key role to support the improvement of international student access and engagement with WIL across the institution and strive to achieve Swinburne’s moon shot 1. There are nine strategic work packages (WP) as part of Swinburne’s WIL Transformation program, and this role will focus on WP 6: Development of partnerships with third party providers for sourcing of WIL opportunities beyond existing institutional capacity. This role will also contribute expertise to the achievement of deliverables within other WP that support the review, design and development of critical WIL operational activities relating to international students.

As the Project Coordinator, International Students WIL, you will collaborate with various teams within Employability, but also university-wide, to identify sufficient quantity and suitable quality WIL opportunities for international students, develop and implement effective planning and management frameworks for international student engagement with WIL, and ensure that international students, employers and academic supervisors are optimally prepared to make the most of WIL experiences.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Experience regarding international student employment and opportunity development in a large and complex institution.
  • An understanding of the current risks and issues relating to WIL experiences for international students, in particular workplace legislation, Higher Education Standards, and the ESOS Act, Regulations and National Code of Practice.
  • High level stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels and develop effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of the higher education policy, academic and operational context, and WIL ideas and practices is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • A degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
