About the role
The Student Hub is seeking a passionate and motivated advisor who will work to support our students across a 24/7 service, with a shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off rota, working a 12-hour shift, from 08.00 until 20:00 This post is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. There is also a further 10% shift enhancement in addition to this. You will be responsible for the provision of advice, information and guidance to University of Southampton students and customers on a wide array of subjects including student fees and funding, accommodation, graduation, careers events and ID cards. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated individual who is interested in enhancing their customer service skills. The successful candidate must be available to work across a variety of Southampton based Student Hub locations.
A successful Student Hub Advisor will possess excellent customer service skills, as well as a competency in Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning service specific software and internal systems. A knowledge of higher education, student support and issues effecting students from a wide range of backgrounds is desirable. The role involves interaction with our students and the successful candidate must be a good communicator, both written and verbal, and confident working alongside a variety of colleagues, and building relationships.
The Student Hub is the first stop for any support our students may need in relation to their studies. Their questions matter and the Student Hub are here to provide advice, support, and guidance throughout their journey with us. We are available 24/7 to answer questions and concerns about university life. No issue is too big, and no question is too small.
