You will join the School of Chemistry in the area of functional material fabrication, as part of a multi-institution EPSRC grant upon 3D nanostructured thermal materials. The broader project involves academics from  Exeter (Condensed matter theory) and Cardiff (3D lithography). You will be responsible for fabricating 3D nanostructured materials using electrochemical synthesis. The fabricated materials will then be subject to a range of physical characterisation methodologies such as scanning electron microscopy. The research will be carried out in the group of Dr. Iris  Nandhakumar, as part of a team encompassing a further research associate and four students.

You will be a researcher with a track record of achievement in the field of electrochemistry with an emphasis upon 3D nanostructure fabrication, as demonstrated by publications in academic journals, international conference presentations, and/or industrial collaborations. Please submit your completed application form with your full CV,  a statement of research interests and career goals (2 pages max) addressing the criteria in the person specifications.

More information about the post may be obtained by contacting Dr Iris  Nandhakumar (iris@soton.ac.uk).  This role is full-time (35 hour per week) for 36 months.
