We are very pleased to announce the availability of a lectureship on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology to contribute to post-graduate research within the department of Psychology, including supervising doctoral and masters level research in a clinical area of their choice. The post is open to ambitious, research-driven scientists with a background in any area of clinical psychology.
It is a really exciting time for clinical psychology, with another substantial expansion of training, and the post offers an opportunity to develop the research aspects of the course in line with current and future NHS priorities. The Royal Holloway DClinPsy is a large well-respected training programme with an existing BABCP CBT pathway and a planned systemic pathway. The post-holder will join an innovative and supportive team of 18 clinical-academic staff with a range of expertise across child, adult, learning disability, health, older-adult and neuropsychology specialities. Students’ clinical experience spans North Thames services.
Staff and student research is well supported within a vibrant Psychology Department, internationally recognised for world-class research and teaching - ranked 3rd in the UK for research in the last REF and with very strong ratings from our students for teaching (UK NSS). The Department has excellent facilities, including MRI, EEG, TMS, eye trackers, behavioural testing suites, and social and infant observation labs, as well as strong links with clinical organisations and government, industry, and charity affiliations. We are proud of our atmosphere of strong collegiality in the department, and we are highly committed to principles of equity and diversity.
Candidates should have a strong publication track record and bring new potential for delivering ground-breaking scientific discoveries, as well as significant potential for funding. Applications from those with clinical research expertise related to eating disorders are particularly encouraged. Applicants should demonstrate strong commitment to delivering an outstanding experience for our students and possess the broad range of skills required to teach effectively at postgraduate levels.
This permanent post is offered full-time, but we would be happy to consider those wanting to work part-time (0.5 to 1.0 FTE). We offer a highly competitive rewards and benefits package with generous annual leave and staff development opportunities, including a higher education teaching qualification.
The post is based in Egham, where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London. A mix of working from home and working in the department is offered if desired.
