We invite applications to work on a project to synthesise reactive phosphorus compounds and study their application in C-F bond activation and other related reactions.
The successful applicant will synthesise and characterise novel low-valent phosphorus-based molecular species and study their properties and reactivity. The activity of these species towards the activation of organofluorine compounds will then be assessed with the long term goal of creating main groups catalysts for C-F activation and the scale-up of these processes. There will be the opportunity to interact with colleagues from the UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering as part of this project.
