Senior Research Assistant in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 519083) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a Master’s degree or above in public health, nursing, health sciences or medicine-related disciplines. They should have at least 1 year’s post-qualification work experience in clinical or community-based research especially with elderly people. Experience in participant recruitment from the community and organizing clinical follow-ups with blood collection will be a significant advantage. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. They should have good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility. They should be able to multi-task and work independently, and also be highly motivated and attentive to details.

The appointee will work on the “Hong Kong Elderly Biobank” research project. He/She will be responsible for project coordination, participant recruitment via telephone, data collection through face-to-face interviews across territory-wide community health centres in Hong Kong, and performing administrative tasks as assigned. This post will allow applicants to gain excellent practical experience in the medical and public health field. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
