This is an exciting opportunity to join our School of Biochemistry and support the University’s cutting-edge research in Immunology, Cardiovascular Sciences and Chronobiology.

We use state-of-the-art techniques and facilities to investigate problems relating to human health and wellbeing. Our community work and learn in an inspiring, innovative and diverse environment to make a positive impact through education and research. We have a bold vision of what we want to achieve through the talents and endeavour of every employee so your work will make a real, impactful difference.

On top of this, you’ll be rewarded with a generous pension, flexible working options including job share and blended home/campus working locations (dependent on work duties). There is also access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes and supportive family friendly benefits including our Bright Horizons on-site workplace nursery, which has an excellent 91% parent satisfaction score. More information about our benefits

You will provide specialist technical support to staff and students by stocking the labs and organising the servicing and running of the lab equipment and supporting the Bioimaging Laboratory Manager with running the facility. Conducting inductions and training people on using the equipment, and engaging with, and supporting, the research activities within the Immunology Section will be another key area.

We are looking for you to demonstrate that you have an understanding of Health and Safety legislation and issues, have excellent observational skills, accuracy and attention to detail and be familiar with tissue culture techniques. You will also need to be vaccinated against hepatitis B or be happy to be vaccinated.

We aim to attract the best possible talent from the broadest range of people and continue to improve the number of staff from groups that are under-represented across our workforce. We provide an inclusive environment that offers equal opportunities for all and value everyone in our community. Therefore, we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities. We are proud to hold the Race Equality Charter, Athena Swan Charter, Disability Confident, Accessible and UK Workplace Equality Index.
