Job Description
The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research assistant in the area of highway and transportation engineering. The research assistant should be knowledgeable of pavement design and lifecycle assessment of road projects. The candidate should be able to work on a simulation software (AASHTOWARE 2.6) and carry on calculations of quantities involved in road construction and other associated infrastructure facilities.
Minimum Qualification
A minimum of BSc degree in Civil Engineering supplemented with documented evidence to support the following:
- Skilled in pavement design
- Ability to carry on lifecycle assessment of road and infrastructure projects
- Ability to conduct statistical and regression analysis
- Good technical writing skills
- Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role.
Preferred Qualification
- Command of pavement design
- Strong background in transportation engineering
- Demonstrable willingness to support research activities
- Adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands
