About the opportunity
The Daffodil Centre was officially launched in March 2021 and is a Joint Venture between Cancer Council NSW (CCNSW) and The University of Sydney. The Centre is a world-leading research centre on cancer and policy, directly influencing policy decisions and real-world improvements along the cancer continuum including prevention, screening and early detection, treatment and supportive care, patient experiences and outcomes.
The Daffodil Centre Senior are seeking a Senior Implementation Scientist who will contribute to the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of high-quality, real worldimpact cancer control research with multi-disciplinary academics, clinicians, policymakers, consumers and other stakeholders. They will be a critical enabler of the real-world implementation of Daffodil Centre research evidence.
The Daffodil Centre Senior Implementation Scientist will be responsible for developing and enhancing the discipline of implementation science within the Centre and to build a strong research track record for the Centre in cancer control implementation both nationally and internationally. The Daffodil Centre Senior Implementation Scientist will also contribute to research supervision and other teaching and leadership activities within the Centre.
About you
The Senior Implementation Scientist will contribute to the research activities of The Daffodil Centre, The University of Sydney and Cancer Council NSW.
The Centre are open to considering candidates at Associate Professor/Principal Research Fellow (Level D) or Professor/Senior Principal Research Fellow (Level E) levels.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a health-related discipline relevant to the research of the Daffodil Centre or other higher professional qualifications, an exceptional track record of research translation success and a national or international reputation for excellence in their discipline or field of expertise.
The successful candidate will also have a wide network of established relationships with key academic, and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the Daffodil Centre. They will have experience in people leadership within the higher education sector, including demonstrated success in fostering a vibrant and outstanding research culture within the Centre and University with a focus on supervising and/or mentoring others towards research success. Level E appointments will also have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the key strategic issues in the higher education sector.
Term and remuneration
The successful candidate will be offered a 3-year, fixed term position on a full-time basis. There is opportunity for an additional 2-year appointment subject to performance.
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
