Job Description:

The Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research, School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Assistant to contribute to ongoing studies of urological cancers.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have: 

  • BSc in Biomedical Sciences, Physiology, Pharmacology or a closely related area.
  • At least one year of relevant laboratory experience (e.g. molecular biology, physiology).
    • Experience with cell culture
    • Experience with molecular techniques e.g. PCR, Western blot, immunofluorescence
    • Experience in live cell imaging and/or electrophysiology.
  • Demonstrable experience of good laboratory practice.

This post is fixed term until 29 November 2023. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
