About Finance and Procurement Services

Finance and Procurement Services assist the University to achieve its goals by providing quality leadership, information, and financial services. The Finance and Procurement Services team develops and maintains financial policies and procedures and internal control to facilitate the conduct of university business and help ensure compliance with taxation and other financial legislative requirements.

About the Role

The Audit and Compliance Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality audit and financial compliance management services across Flinders University. You will conduct reviews and recommendations on a range of complex compliance matters, including ongoing business continuity management and the existing risk management functions of the University. Adhering to the relevant legislation, you will work to establish a financial compliance framework that both improves efficiencies and is consistent with Flinders University policies and professional standards. You will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the ongoing development of corporate compliance and risk management services. 

About You

To be successful in this role you will be a highly experienced manager in the accounting field, with an accounting tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and/or training. You have previously developed compliance frameworks or highly complex projects with success including establishment, review, and continuous improvement.  You are a leader that encourages collaboration, teamwork and sharing responsibility in achieving results. You can appreciate the importance of undertaking projects with wide-ranging impacts across organisational objectives and make an effort to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to motivate and encourage positive change. You should also demonstrate a strong understanding of policies and procedures when it comes to internal compliance activities.
