We are committed to maintaining high standards in all areas and play a key role in the provision of education and social work services throughout East London and beyond. Following the retirement of the current Head of the Department, we are seeking an exceptional colleague to lead the Department Initial Teacher Education and Development. Responsible for leading the provision of our Initial Teacher Education Courses, including the delivery of the ITT curriculum across all phases, and managing OFSTED and DfE compliance, you will also support the ongoing development of our post-qualifying and professional development courses. 

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill this key leadership role. Ideally educated to postgraduate degree level, you will be expected to have Qualified Teacher Status, experience teaching in at least one phase, and preferably experience in a senior leadership role in schools or Universities. Experience in teaching/supervising students in Higher or Further Education, as well as the ability to adapt to meet students’ expectations, is essential. You will have a strong commitment to the enhancement of teaching, student experience, progression and an ability to plan, prioritise and organise your own work/resources and the work/resources of others to ensure that student needs are met.
