Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University announces an open competition for the positions:

Lecturers in Programming and Computer Science

Number of open positions: 1 for full-time / part-time employment is possible

Application deadline: 15 February 2023

Working Hours: full-time (40 hours per week), part-time (at least 20 hours per week)

Expected start: March 2023 / By mutual agreement

Employment: temporary position with 3-year contract with possible extension

Salary: CZK 54 000 - 58 000/month (according to the level of education achieved)

Job description key points

  • tutoring of programming skills at Bachelor’s degree level (Python, Haskell);
  • development and maintenance of an assignment submission system as part of the teaching duties;
  • preparation and development of out-of-school assignments for basic programming courses;
  • plagiarism detection for students’ programming activities;
  • participation in preparation, realization, and evaluation of relevant exams and hands-on seminars;
  • continuous improvement of personal teaching skills.

The successful candidate must have

  • a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or related discipline;
  • a passion for problem-solving and a desire for continuous improvement in teaching skills;
  • experience in Haskell and Python programming;
  • experience in IT operations (dev-ops);
  • ability to lead a lecture or seminar in English language;
  • fluent Czech or Slovak language skills.
