Do you want to be part of building a cancer competence cluster with the potential to have significant societal and educational impacts? Would you like to support top cancer experts in making innovative discoveries as part of the University’s high-quality Research Services?

The iCAN Digital Precision Cancer Medicine flagship is a public-private partnership hosted by University of Helsinki and HUS Helsinki University Hospital within the Academy of Finland flagship programme. University Services enables our international academic community to focus on its core duties: research, teaching, studying and public engagement.

We are currently seeking a new Project Manager into the iCAN flagship. The Project Manager works with a large group of researchers and clinicians as a member of the iCAN admin team to lead and coordinate activities within the flagship.

The tasks include e.g.: planning and coordinating the execution of projects with various stakeholders, managing resources, budgets and schedules, tracking progress and performance of the projects and communication among stakeholders and to larger audience.

The optimal candidate has experience in project management including the ability to plan, organize and coordinate complex projects as well as some experience in the relevant research and regulatory environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills and a detail-oriented and analytical approach to problem-solving are appreciated. Essential qualifications include relevant higher-level education and strong written and oral English skills. Finnish language skills are not mandatory but considered beneficial.

iCAN has a dynamic, vibrant, and highly motivated international team with a friendly, and supportive working culture. You will be supported by skilled colleagues in the University Services work community. Your wellbeing at work is our priority, and we will help you thrive by providing, for example, flexible working hours, inexpensive and diverse sports services, and occupational health care.

The appointment will be on a fixed-term basis until the end of 2026. The starting date is negotiable, but we hope the appointee will take up the position in March 2023 the latest. Submit your application to the university's recruitment system by January 31st, 2023, including a curriculum vitae, and a motivation letter in your application.

The University of Helsinki welcomes applicants of any gender, linguistic and cultural background, or minority group.
