About the role

Equity and Diversity works with students and staff to promote and support equality of opportunity in education and employment at Western Sydney University. It provides high-level strategic advice to Executive and senior management, develops and implements policy, provides education and training, and coordinates a range of projects, networks and programs to deliver on the University's equity and diversity related strategic priorities.

You will help Western to live up to our hard-earned ranking by The Times Higher Education as 3rd in the World for Gender Equality and 4th for Reducing Inequalities. You will deliver high impact equity and diversity initiatives in the areas of gender equity; Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (CALD); sexuality and gender diversity; disability and accessibility.

The Senior Project Officer is also required to develop a coordinated approach to statistical evaluation, strategic analysis, monitoring and reporting of the University’s equity and diversity performance including preparation of reports and submissions in accordance with the University’s governmental, governance and compliance requirements, to provide advice and training on equity and diversity issues to staff at all levels and to participate in university wide projects and committees advising on equity and diversity perspectives.

You will also provide statistical evaluation, strategic analysis, tracking and benchmarking of the University’s equity and diversity performance, advising and training students and staff on equity and diversity issues; and coordinating University wide projects and collaborations on important equity and diversity issues. The position also manages the Equity and Diversity website and participates in a range of Unit special projects.

This is a part-time 0.6 FTE, fixed term role until 31 December 2023, based at Hawkesbury campus.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 7 $113,831 to $122,779 p.a. (comprising Salary of $96,189 to $103,750 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).

Pro-rata 0.6 FTE equivalent is $68,298 to $73,667 p.a. (comprising Salary of $57,713 to $62,250 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading).
