About the Role 

An excellent opportunity has become available to join the Department of Accounting, Economics & Finance as our new Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, Finance. We are looking for a dynamic individual to prepare, deliver and facilitate lectures, tutorials and workshops and assess students in the Finance discipline both on campus and online. As part of your role, you will also make a significant contribution to the initiation and development of academic programs, working with the academic team in the development of program change and innovation. You will also be expected to mentor and counsel students on academic matters and may also supervise honours, masters and PhD students.

A contribution to the School’s research output, income and impact is expected. You will assume administrative tasks associated with normal academic duties and will also contribute to School management and administration generally. You will be expected to participate in activities that foster and build further on existing links with government, business, communities and professions both in Australia and internationally.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Experience in undertaking teaching, associated administrative duties, coordination and curriculum development at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In particular, strong teaching outcomes in Finance with demonstrated excellent quality of teaching scores.
  • Demonstrated academic leadership ability.
  • Demonstrated excellence in and commitment to innovative education, including blended learning formats, online teaching and the use of case studies, role-plays and/or simulations in the learning environment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in and commitment to research in the university context with the ability or potential to attract research funding from sources external to the university or to contribute to funded research projects.
  • Demonstrated industry or consulting experience including established links with relevant industries and organisations is preferred.

Qualifications

  • An earned doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a related field with a track record of quality academic publications.
  • A teaching qualification.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body and/or CFA or CFP designation.
