Job description
We are looking for a Property & Facilities Service Desk Administrator to join our team to play a critical role in providing comprehensive administrative support service to Property and Facilities.

The Property & Facilities Department delivers an excellent customer experience to over 1,500 staff and nearly 19,000 students.  The Department’s focus is on managing the University's key facilities, including Estates and Buildings, Energy and Sustainability, Security, Cleaning, Logistics, Print and Document Services, Sports Centre, Catering, Conference and Events and Student Accommodation.

The role

You will support the University in delivering our Strategy and Corporate Plan by providing a professional, proactive first line of contact, both internally and externally for the department.

You will operate broadly, interchangeably and flexibly as requirements demand, in order to deliver an efficient and resilient service to the department. You will support our staff and students with Service Desk request logging, the purchasing of goods and services on behalf of maintenance team/wider department and any other administration duties as required.

You will have access to the Planon facilities management system, allowing you to support our staff and students in recording faults and maintenance requests, and updating work orders and costs until completion.

This role provides you with the opportunity to work closely with other relevant staff to ensure all department activities and priorities are supported coherently and appropriately to meet the University strategy.

Who we are looking for

  • You will have an HNC/HND (or equivalent) or will be able to evidence having worked previously within a similar capacity to this role.
  • You will have prior administrative experience, be a strong communicator both orally and in writing, and have demonstrable experience of managing customer relationships.
  • You will ideally have experience of procurement using financial systems such as AGRESSO and experience of using a service desk system.
  • You will have a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail skills are essential and the ability to juggle conflicting priorities to meet multiple tight deadlines.
  • High level of IT skills is crucial including a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages (specifically Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
