The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites application for a doctorally prepared faculty member with advanced practice certification to teach in both our Master of Science in Nursing and our Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs. The position is a full-time, 12-month position on the Clinical Teaching Track with expectations for teaching, scholarship, practice, and service as described by the College and University. This position requires national, advanced practice certification as a family nurse practitioner and will serve in the leadership role as the Graduate Program Director. As the Graduate Program Director, the faculty member will serve in a leadership role providing direct oversight for all graduate program options.

Job Duties:

Faculty Responsibilities:
    Teach graduate students in an online education format Engage in an active program of research/scholarship Maintain clinical advanced practice nursing and academic expertise in the Lane Center or other appropriate clinical site Select learning experiences and guide students in achieving desired outcomes Participate in the evaluation process of the program, students and faculty Assume faculty role in the guidance, advising and recruitment of students Participate in curriculum development Engage in activities that advance the mission and goals of the Department, College, and University Participate in other duties as assigned

Graduate Program Director Responsibilities:
    Provides oversight for operations for all graduate program options Participates in the development of strong campus and community partnerships and collaborations to advance the mission and values of the graduate program Oversees management of graduate student issues/concerns from identification through resolution, including but not limited to recruitment, admissions, progression, and graduation Supports the planning, delivery, and evaluation of teaching and learning experiences required for delivery of the curriculum and as advised by the standards for professional nursing and accreditation Primary responsibility for enhancing quality of academic programs through program evaluation and curricular improvement Primary responsibility for ensuring communication materials are current such as the website, brochures, catalog, student handbook Serves as a resource to the Graduate Practicum Coordinator and staff to ensure that clinical placement needs are met Coordinates the hiring process for site visitors Oversees scheduling and evaluation of the standardized exit exam for graduate students Collaborates with the Department Chair to ensure that course scheduling and teaching assignments are current Participates in orientation and mentoring of new faculty and staff Supports the development of new and innovative programs Represents the nursing graduate programs on the GEC Serves as the chair of the Graduate Student Advisory Council Represents or acts on the behalf of the Department Chair in their absence Serves as an advisor to the Department Chair on matters related to personnel, governance, and organization of the department

Work Location: Hybrid (50% remote, 50% on-site)

Remote work will be available for emergency events. This will be offered based on the emergency and allowance will come from leadership and the guidelines provided at the time of the emergency.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary Range: Generally starting at $98,000 - $110,500 per year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Tentative Search Timeline:
    Priority will be given to applications submitted by January 29, 2023. However, this posting will remain open until filled. The potential dates for on-demand virtual interviews will be the week of February 6, 2023. The potential dates for interviews with the search committee and supervisor will be the week of February 20, 2023. The potential employee start date is negotiable, but aiming for between May and August 2023.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
    Doctorate degree in nursing or related field (i.e. DNP or PhD), conferred prior to start of employment Master of Science degree in Nursing (if non-nursing terminal degree) Current national, advanced practice certification as a family nurse practitioner Minimum of five years of practice experience as an APRN Minimum of three years of teaching experience in higher education Current, unrestricted RN and APRN licensure with prescriptive authority in the State of Colorado or eligible to obtain prior to start of employment

    Established record of scholarship Established record of service Experience with online teaching Prior leadership role in a graduate nursing education program

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
