Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology ,Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Prof Macary’s Laboratory, which is located at the Life Sciences Institute. The lab is fully equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, machines and core facilities. The project focuses on studying the role of alloantibodies in mediating organ rejection. Appointment will be made on a one-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for at least one more year. 

The position is available immediately.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with the other study team members and will provide assistance to the project.

Main duties and responsibilities

The RA will be able to:

  1. Provide administrative support to the project.
  2. Undertake the day to day running of the project;
  3. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
  4. Assist with any other duties in lab of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.

Qualifications

The applicant should have:

  • A Bachelor degree in Life Sciences (biomedical sciences preferred)
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, etc
  • Experience in recombinant protein expression and purification
  • Be well-organized, dedicated and a team player

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
