Job Description

The Department of Mass Communication and Media in the College of Arts and Science at GUST invites applicants for a full-time Faculty position in Visual Communication and Graphic Design to start in Fall 2023. The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in a related field from a reputable international university and possess a minimum of three years of university teaching experience. He/she will have teaching experience in visual communication in commercial contexts and at least two of the following: graphic design and typography, advertising, integrated marketing communication, and promotional design. The State of Kuwait does not recognize degrees from online universities.

Minimum Qualifications

The applicant must have completed a Ph.D. from a reputable North American (U.S. or Canada) or European university with at least three years of teaching experience. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to quality teaching, should possess excellent communication skills in English, must be ambitious, self-motivated, hard-working, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Professional experience in advertising, integrated marketing communication, and additional abilities to teach industry standard illustration, photo manipulation, page layout, animation or digital media software programs are desirable.

Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) was established in 2002 as Kuwait's first private American-model liberal arts university and affiliated with the Missouri University of Science and Technology (MS&T) & UMSL. GUST currently offers several programs in Arts and Sciences and Business, including an MBA degree.
