You will join our magnetic resonance section within the School of Chemistry at the University of Southampton. You will help scientists plan and execute cutting-edge research projects, which require the design, construction, and operation of advanced scientific instruments. In addition to designing new research equipment, you will oversee the maintenance of state-of-the art nuclear magnetic resonance instrumentation and train users to operate it safely.
To be successful you will have skill level equivalent to achievement of Level 6 of the NQF (Degree) comparison chart. Or equivalent industrial/professional experience in Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a field closely related to one of these. In addition you will have experience in magnetic resonance and are able to work independently, supporting a team of researchers in a multi-user environment. Experience in the design and construction of electronic systems; proficiency in CAD/CAM software and experience with cryogenic systems are highly desirable.
