Applications are invited for a temporary post of an Executive Assistant - Payments within UCD Finance Office.

The Finance Office wishes to appoint an experienced Executive Assistant for its Payments Section. Reporting to the Payments Manager, the successful applicant will have knowledge of the policies and procedures applicable to the payment of invoices. UCD pays 90,000 invoices per year with a total value of 200m to over 15,000 suppliers. The post-holder will have an understanding of the financial systems which underpin an electronic procure to pay system and will have some experience working in a computerised office environment.

The successful candidate must have an awareness of the need to follow university policies in relation to the processing of invoices, especially in relation to the security checks which need to be followed in relation to and checks over supplier data changes. The successful candidate should have an understanding of the rules governing self-accounting for VAT and should have experience in the rules applying to invoices for professional services and payments to which RCT legislation applies. The successful candidate must have relevant experience of a high volume invoice payment system.

The appointee will require good numerical, analytical, problem solving and communication skills. Candidates should be capable of working in a demanding and busy environment.

Candidates should be capable of working on their own initiative and should also be able to demonstrate team leadership and motivation skills.

95 Executive Assistant 2010 (2013) Salary Scale: 27,490 - 43,250 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
