Fixed term position for 36 months to commence asap

This project is part of a Soil Science Challenge project led by University of Western Australia to provide an in-depth understanding of soil physical and chemical processes in response to biological inputs that complement chemical fertilisers to maximise productivity.  The purpose of this position is to assess the effect of previous compost addition on the response of plants to drought in glasshouse experiments.

To be successful you will need:

  • PhD in Soil Science or similar.
  • Experience in a range of soil analyses for nutrient availability and basic soil properties.
  • Experience in growing plants and plant analyses.
  • Experience with statistical analyses, data presentation and writing manuscripts.
  • A record of quality research as evidenced by publications in leading journals.

You should have good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to tailor communication skills appropriately when interacting with students, researchers, professional staff and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to hold a Valid Driver license
