Applications are invited for the post of Research fellow in the Department of Drama, Theatre and Dance. 

A Research Fellow is sought for Public Acts, a theatre project with Trowbridge Town Hall and the National Theatre in London, working in partnership with the Department of Drama, Theatre and Dance. Successful candidates will undertake research in Trowbridge as part of the NT’s flagship programme, Public Acts. Public Acts is designed to encourage participants from a range of community settings to participate in theatre, with workshop programmes that are designed in collaboration with community partners.

The Research Fellow will be part of a team of nationwide researchers, led by Professor Helen Nicholson in the department of Drama, Theatre and Dance at Royal Holloway.  You will undertake research in Tr0wbridge Town Hall, observing workshops and rehearsals. Your research will contribute to a report that is planned to be launched at the National Theatre in late 2023, and research will take place between January and May 2023. 

Successful candidates will have experience of undertaking research in community settings and working with theatre professionals. You will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of research methods, the ability to write industry-facing reports, work as a team and independently to a professional standard. Successful candidates will be expected to work evenings and some weekends. 

The post is based in Trowbridge in different community settings and at the National Theatre on London’s South Bank.
