About the Role

As a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, you will provide leadership in research and to the delivery of topics within the Psychology discipline, particularly in the following areas: cognitive, experimental, biological, developmental, psychology and/or quantitative research methods.

The Academic Teacher and Researcher will plan, deliver, and evaluate curriculum including lectures, tutorials, and placements within Psychology, focusing on pedagogical practice that is innovative and enhances the student experience. You will contribute to the College’s ethical and high-quality research focus areas by scholarship, publication, and external grant acquisition. You will build and maintain strategic relationships with a range of stakeholders, both internally through mentoring early career researchers and externally through new and existing industry partners. Working across multi-disciplinary teams, you will help shape a highly respectful and collaborative work environment for all.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an excellent and experienced tertiary teacher in Psychology, including responsibility of topic coordination and curriculum design. You will have previously supervised honours and higher degree students to success and have a strong track record of research in the areas of the College strengths, particularly Mind, Body and Cognition. You can highlight previous high-quality publications and successful attraction of competitive grants in your career. You are an excellent communicator in all formats, particularly in your ability to establish relationships with students, staff, and industry partners. You will have a completed a PhD in Psychology.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Capacity to teach in areas related to cognitive, experimental, biological, or developmental psychology and/or quantitative research methods.
  • An understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, and scholarship.
  • Experience providing leadership in curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.
  • Innovative approaches to teaching and learning, including online teaching.
