Research Fellow AI for Security

This is an excellent opportunity if you are an expert in machine learning and have a keen interest in cybersecurity.

You will join the Cyber Security Group in the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) at the University of Southampton. You will work on a research project that aims to support the autonomous decision-making process by providing attacker-oriented defence mechanisms through the usage of a Natural Language Processing (NLP) extractor for cyber- attack attribution.

About you

  • You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualification and experience in Computer Science or a similar area.
  • Have experience in machine learning. 
  • You will have strong computer programming skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Our ideal candidate has expertise in Natural Language Processing techniques for text extraction.
  • While the project is in the area of cyber-attack investigation, you are not required to be an expert in this area, but a keen interest in cybersecurity will be valued.
