About the opportunity

The Student Placements team works with academic and professional staff to support almost 7000 students to help them meet the necessary compliance for placements. The team is responsible for the end-to-end placements lifecycle, management of Student Placement Agreements (SPAs), Student Verification and ClinConnect coordination. The team is also required to provide ongoing policy, planning and strategic support in terms of student capability and compliance for placements.

The Student Placements and Administration Assistant role provides administrative support for the allocation and co-ordination of clinical placements for students. The role is part of a team that coordinate clinical placements; communicates with internal and external clients; and provides administration support to the professional experience program for students. The Administration Assistant is also responsible for responding to counter, phone and email enquiries.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • ensure professional and effective communication with students, staff and health care sites
  • record management using the University Record Management system, e-learning and clinical placement information system
  • contribute effectively as part of the Student Placements team and professional staff teams to achieve team goals and objectives
  • provide administrative support to academic staff for the training and management of casual Clinical facilitators
  • perform work activities relevant to the role's key accountabilities as proved by the manager.

About you

  • strong administration background, preferably attained in a tertiary environment
  • equivalent combination of training and experience in the area of administration
  • effective and tactful verbal and written communication skills
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • exhibits initiative and sound judgment
  • excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
  • great attention to detail.
