Senior Lecturer in Banking and Finance

The Business School seeks to recruit a Senior Lecturer, in the post of Senior Advisor, to the Qatar Centre in Global Banking and Finance (QCGBF). The new appointee will be expected to add significantly to the Banking and Finance Subject Group’s research and strategic capacity. Additionally, while the role is primarily research- and management-based, the post holder will provide teaching capacity for the educational activities of the Centre. This is a permanent appointment. At present, the Centre has confirmed funding until August 2024. If the funding does not resume after this date the appointment will continue as a standard Senior Lecturer position, within the Banking and Finance Group. 

The Business School is looking for a distinguished scholar who already has an outstanding international profile in the fields of economics and/or finance research. Expertise in the fields of financial regulation and/or central bank policy making are essential. Further, the post holder will ideally have considerable working experience in a central bank. The post holder is expected to demonstrate exceptional ambition and leadership in developing the activities of the new Centre, in particular in helping launch successfully the new MSc in Financial Policy and Regulation.  

The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen the Business School’s research capacity and will require a publication list that includes peer-reviewed articles published in leading relevant journals. 

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract
