Job Description

The School is recruiting a Part-time Teaching Appointment position for an NUS General Education module, Public Health in Action. The module is to allow students to develop an appreciation of how the health of an entire population impacts individuals and how complex problems can be prevented or addressed using culturally appropriate solutions.

The candidate is expected to commit to 3 fixed days per week. The candidate will lead the administrative support for the instructing team as well as engage the students in discussions, facilitate debates and student assignments/projects.

The main responsibilities of the candidate include:

  • administration of the module
  • scheduling of the lecturers
  • preparation of teaching materials with lecturers
  • grading assignments
  • facilitation of the classes

Successful candidates are expected to be committed for one year with the extension of appointment subject to review of performance at the end of the first year.

A full-time appointment can be considered depending on candidate’s qualification and working experience.

Job Requirements

The candidate should be interested in administration and academic interactions with undergraduates. The candidate should be a keen and organised administrator, in addition to being proactive about his/her teaching activities, be competent in communicating and engaging students.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degrees.
  • Candidates with some relevant experience are preferred.
