We have a supportive, friendly and dynamic working environment and we are looking for an experienced manager to take forward our strategic vision for our Outreach, Participation and Advice Service (OPAS)

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of our Outreach, Participation and Advice Service (OPAS) to ensure that proactive information and advice is provided to students and prospective students, that is inclusive of a diverse student population, ensuring alignment with the University Strategic Plan. Working in partnership with students, faculties, directorates and the Student Union to ensure that information and advice services are available to any student who needs them, this will include our work on care leaver support, sexual violence and bullying and harassment. You will also work on the participation elements of the Access and Participation Plan with the Head of Information, Advice and Participation particularly in the area of monitoring and evaluation of projects. 

You will have significant, demonstrable experience of working in UK Higher Education in an information and advice role including an expert working knowledge in the areas of sexual violence, bullying harassment and advice services in an HE context. You will have managed staff in an information and advice role, have significant experience of the assessment and monitoring of risk and duty of care in an educational context and of taking forward initiatives that demonstrate a commitment to social mobility, inclusion and participation as well as a good working knowledge of GDPR requirements and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality

You will have the ability to undertake business process reviews, evaluate management information and produce reports that will influence university decision making. Using cultural competence to inform the development and delivery of services, that demonstrate empathy and attention to the student voice. You will have excellent interpersonal, IT and written and verbal communications skills that demonstrate a customer focused approach and be able to prioritise, organise and deliver a complex and changing workload. You will be able to convey precise information in a clear and effective manner to diverse groups, have experience of training groups of staff and students and writing information, advice, instruction and guidance materials for a diverse audience.
