About us 

The Professional Services finance team are seeking to appoint a management accountant (qualified or finalist) to be part of our busy team made up of eight accountants and six accountancy support staff. 

This team looks after the finances of the non-academic areas of the University, ranging from iSolutions (IT department) to HR (Human Resources) and Student Careers to Halls of Residences.

The prime responsibility of the post is to act as the finance business partner for up to four Professional Services, depending on their size. This will involve carrying out a range of professional accountancy tasks to assist in planning, forecasting, monitoring and year-end process to assist the Service Directors to maintain budgetary control.

Our flexible working practices include a hybrid working model with a minimum of one day office-based (at the Highfield campus) a week. 

About you 

You will be well organised, with excellent analytical, numeracy and communication skills and capable of effectively managing a wide range of simultaneous activities. 

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and can prioritise their work to meet deadlines in a busy environment. 

Effective communication, IT and customer service skills are essential to the role.

The successful candidate will be line-managing one member of staff and previous experience of training and development is advantageous.
