The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University, invites applications for the following position:

Assistant Professor in Business Informatics

The Department of Corporate Economy at Masaryk University is looking for a highly motivated, experienced full-time (40 hours a week) Assistant professor with a background in Business Informatics or Information Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching mandatory and elective courses for students in Business Informatics and Business Management programs. Although the primary duties will be teaching, we are looking for candidates with a balanced academic profile. Therefore, candidates with good research profiles in Business Informatics or Information Systems will have an advantage.

What does the position entail?

  • Participation in teaching bachelor and master courses in the Business Management and Business Informatics programs with a workload of 8 - 10 hours per week,
  • supervision of 6 - 10 bachelor and master theses per year.
  • collaboration with a team that aims to publish in top-tier academic journals in the field of Business, Management, Information Systems, or Computer Science,
  • active teaching and research collaboration with other members of the department,
  • developing international cooperation with leading universities in Europe.

What do we require?

  • Ph.D. in the field of Business Informatics, Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Science, or related field,
  • experience with the teaching of courses in at least one of the following fields: Information Systems (basics), Information Strategy, Business Informatics Theories, Digital Transformation,
  • focus on student-centered teaching and experience with modern teaching methods such as blended learning, student engagement, and activity-based and project-based learning,
  • experience with collaboration with researchers from universities with high reputation or with reputed companies,
  • publications in reputed journals in the field of Business, Management, Information Systems, or Computer Science or experience with applied research in Business Informatics,
  • ability to lecture and communicate in the English language (at least B2 level), ability to lecture in Czech is an advantage,
  • interest in staying at the faculty for at least 3 years,
  • the earliest starting date of the contract is January 1st, 2023; a later starting date can be negotiated.
