The Department of Mathematics at the University of Surrey invites applications for a Lectureship (maternity cover) for the period 1 February – 31 July 2023. The duties will include the teaching of two undergraduate modules and providing tutorial support as well as supporting collegiality in the department.
We encourage applications from candidates with expertise in any area of Mathematics. The successful candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics or a closely related discipline. They will be committed to pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supporting students.
The Department’s portfolio of undergraduate programmes consists of its MMath degree and a range of vibrant BSc programmes. The Department has two postgraduate programmes including its flagship MSc in Mathematical Data Science. Research within the Department is associated with five broad themes, namely: Data Science and Dynamics; Dynamical Systems and PDEs; Fields, Strings and Geometry; Mathematics of Life and Social Sciences; and Nonlinear Waves and Geometric Fluid Mechanics.
