The Coordinator, Assessment and Special Consideration oversees the operational frameworks, processes and team resourcing relating to Special Consideration and the Academic Progress System within the Academic Progression and Integrity Team (API). The position coordinates, along with the broader API Leadership team, continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new procedural requirements in relation to Special Consideration, Student Academic Integrity and Student Academic Progress.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that people responsible for implementing work priorities have role clarity, the authority to act and feel empowered and supported to act
  • Identifying, leading and actively promoting change within own area of responsibility and understanding and communicating the reasons for the change
  • Using knowledge of innovation principles to analyse current processes and practices
  • Establishing and demonstrating a high level of learning, energy and commitment and maintaining personal integrity and making decisions consistent with University values
  • Consulting a diverse range of stakeholders and experts, not immediately involved, to gain a broader and deeper understanding of a specific issue
  • Seeking feedback from clients regarding their satisfaction and perspective with products or services received, responding to feedback with openness and transparency and seeking to identify ways to better service the customer
  • Developing and implementing practical, accessible solutions based on stakeholder needs
  • Acting as a coach and working with team members to facilitate growth and development by giving balanced, constructive feedback considering individual capability and team performance

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Administrative experience in a large organisation which is governed through an extensive policy framework
  • Knowledge of academic progress and academic integrity policy, process and practice
  • Experience applying a common set of rules in a multitude of circumstances
