This ARCH (Academic and Research Collaborative in Health) research leadership position is a part of an exciting academic, clinical and research partnership between La Trobe University and Alfred Health. The successful person and their team will have offices at their primary location onsite at Alfred Health and will have strong linkages to their discipline and across disciplines within the School of Allied Health, Human Services and Sport (SAHHSS) at La Trobe University, Bundoora.

About the position

The Professor of Allied Health (Implementation Sciences) will lead industry engagement and contribute to the research, clinical and academic partnership between La Trobe University and Alfred Health. They will ensure strong industry and consumer engagement and provide research leadership to Alfred clinicians and researchers, alongside academics and students at La Trobe University. They will facilitate an evidence-based approach to health care, with an emphasis on inter-professional practice and consumer-focussed and industry co-produced research and translation.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing, together with research experience in clinical, community or industry settings.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in liaising with collaborators and industry partners and in promoting research links with outside organisations/agencies.
  • Distinguished record of original, innovative and internationally recognised research, with evidence of its impact and significance.
  • Outstanding record of publications, including papers in top-tier and high-impact journals, conference papers, reports and/or professional and/or technical contributions in the relevant discipline area.
  • Demonstrated high level leadership and management experience in leading research teams or projects and financial management of grants for research projects.
  • Proven experience in supervising, mentoring and fostering the research activities of others and contributing effectively at school, and/or university levels.
