Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Research Scientist within UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science
University College Dublin is seeking to appoint a Research Scientist in the UCD School of Biomolecular and Biomedical Science (SBBS). The School delivers five of the most popular undergraduate degree programmes (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Neuroscience). In addition, the School delivers six taught MSc programmes (Biotechnology, Biotechnology & Business, Biotherapeutics, Biotherapeutics & Business, Toxicology & Regulatory Affairs and Biological & Biomolecular Science).
The School has over 40 Academic staff with highly successful research programmes. UCD was awarded the Athena SWAN Bronze Institutional award in 2017. In recognition of SBBS commitment to advancing the careers of women in science and use of inclusive policies and practices we were awarded an Athena SWAN bronze award in April 2019. The School is now seeing to progress upon this Bronze award.
The successful applicant will assist the School's Athena SWAN self-assessment team by collecting and compiling gender and EDI-related data for the School application as well as assess impact of current policies and actions. They will also provide administrative support to the Chair of the self-assessment team
The role is varied in administrative and research duties and will include liaising with the Athena SWAN self-assessment team, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion unit in SBBS and the College of Science and other School stakeholders. Research duties will include collating, analysing and assessing school related data.In addition, the candidate will be responsible for developing a framework for future Athena Swan applications. The candidate will be required to undertake other duties as may be requested by the Head of School, that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.
Salary Range: 41,612 - 52,000 per annum
Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
