Job Description

Prof Aaron Thean’s lab in ECE Department of National University of Singapore is looking for a Research Fellow to contribute to projects related to microelectronic simulations.

The selected candidate is expected to

  • The candidate should have a background in Electrical and Computer Engineering/ Electronics/Physics.
  • Must have knowledge on modern computer memory and associated circuits, memory arrays and architecture, read/write operations, CMOS transistors
  • Very good hands-on experience with circuit simulations with HSPICE/LTSPICE. Experience in signal and power simulation of circuit. Comfortable in handling and understanding SPICE models. Nice-to-have: experience with cadence/mentor graphics circuit tools.
  • Very good hold on software tools: Matlab/Mathematica, Python programming.
  • Good hold/knowledge on hardware description language like Verilog (digital circuits) and Verilog-A (analog circuits).
  • Experience with TCAD tools (e.g. Sentaurus sde, sdevice, sprocess) for simulation of down-scaled silicon-based CMOS transistors, FinFETs, GAAFETs etc.
  • Additional skills: Experience with machine learning methods.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with both academic and industry collaborators.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D degree in Microelectronics/ VLSI/ Computer science from a recognised University.
  • Experience in modelling and simulation of semiconductor devices, circuits, and systems.
  • Experience in lab-on-chip is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication especially in scientific writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in writing high-impact international journals.
