Senior Tenured Scholar - McDonough School of Business and the Walsh School of Foreign Service
Georgetown University: Main Campus: McDonough School of Business

Location: Washington, DC
Open Date: Jul 28, 2018
Deadline:

Description
Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business (MSB) and the Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) invite applications and nominations for a senior tenured scholar to hold a joint appointment in both schools.

This joint position is one of a number of new interdisciplinary positions at Georgetown intended to foster scholarship and teaching on some of the important problems of our times. Because of our location in Washington, DC, extensive linkages to the international policy and business communities, and strong tradition of scholarship and teaching in business, international affairs, and political economy, Georgetown has a unique opportunity to pursue integrative opportunities in scholarship and educational programs at the intersection of these fields, and the person appointed to the joint position will play an important role in these initiatives.

The MSB and SFS are currently undertaking a transformative cooperation to create a new joint undergraduate degree, the first in Georgetown's history, and plans are also underway for joint centers and research initiatives. This cooperation builds on the success of several joint graduate degrees, as well as a jointly administered Global Business Fellows program for undergraduates. The successful candidate will help provide leadership in deepening and broadening the linkages between the schools.

The SFS is a preeminent international affairs school with deep expertise in international political economy, regional studies, and security studies. The MSB has strengths in core business disciplines as well as international business, public policy, and international political economy. Both the MSB and the SFS are collegial and multi-disciplinary.
