At the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, the Geodetic Institute invites applications for the

Chair (W2) of Optical 3D Measurement

to be filled on April 1, 2023.

You (m/f/d) will represent the field of optical 3D measurement techniques in interdisciplinary research and teaching at the TU Dresden.

We are looking for you as a personality with an international scientific track record in the fields of development of geometric and stochastic sensor modeling in the field of geodetic and imaging measurement systems (including lidar). In addition, a research focus in the area of kinematic measurement methods, sensor technology in autonomous driving, microtomography, industrial measurement technology, or medical measurement methods is desired. Complementary to existing competences, the orientation should be on the development of methods with an engineering-scientific profile. Teaching tasks include the further development and internationalization of the study programs. Your willingness to teach English-language courses is a prerequisite, as is your willingness to actively participate in academic self-administration. In addition, active cooperation with partner institutions in the DRESDEN-concept, a research alliance of TU Dresden, and local non-university research and cultural institutions, are sought. 

We expect from you a successfully profiled scientific activity in a current field of the appointment area, excellent research achievements with high development potential, experience in teaching, special didactic skills, and success in the acquisition of third-party funding. This must be demonstrated in particular by high-ranking publications, international networking and a positively evaluated teaching performance. The ability to acquire DFG projects and integrate them into existing and future large-scale interdisciplinary projects in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at TU Dresden is expected. Interest and ability to participate in collaborative research are required. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
