The School of Humanities and Social Inquiry (HSI) is part of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and includes the disciplines of Philosophy, History, Sociology, Politics, Indigenous Studies, Cultural Studies, and Languages and Linguistics. The school is home to degrees in the Bachelor of Arts, the Bachelor of International Studies, and the Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics.  

This s a teaching intensive position; however, the appointee will also contribute to governance and research. The successful candidate must hold a PhD in any area of Spanish studies by the closing date for applications, or be well advanced towards completing a relevant PhD; the area of specialisation can be in a relevant area (e.g. linguistics, literature, second language acquisition, cultural studies).

The appointee must have native or near-native command of Spanish and be able to prove demonstrated capacity to contribute to teaching and curriculum design across all undergraduate levels in the Spanish program. The appointee will have recent experience teaching Spanish as a second language in an Australian university and be fully conversant with contemporary theoretical approaches to language teaching.

This position will be offered at Level A or B depending on level of experience.
