Queen's Management School at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Research Fellow in Economic History. The Research Fellow will work at the Queen’s University Centre for Economic History as a part of the Government of Ireland-funded cross-border Centre for Economics, Policy and History. The Research Fellow will be active in the delivery of their own research programme and assist the Centre directors in the outreach activities of the Centre.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post for 24 months only, starting 1 February 2023 (or as soon as possible thereafter). Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding. 

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have: 

  • A relevant PhD (or be about to obtain a relevant PhD) in an economic history topic
  • At least 3 years relevant research experience
  • Experience of publishing, or ability to publish, in top international journals
  • Ability to contribute to outreach activities and administrative processes
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and written in a clear manner
  • Ability to translate research into policy recommendations.
