Job Description

To assist the Head, Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) in fulfilling the roles and functions of SUSS’s QA, from the perspective of Data Analytics, including the following:

  • Continually assess operational data needs and help establish quality standards which minimise institutional risks while meeting the expectations of stakeholders, and make periodic reporting in these areas
  • Assist in strategic data assessment, with a view to facilitate SUSS’s Action Plans in response to MOE’s QAFU review recommendations
  • Evaluate areas where data analytics can be deployed to automate data collection, as well as to make decisions on areas and frequencies of inspections and reviews; Explore and drive new quality-related analytics initiatives
  • Schedule and complete regular quality analytics projects
  • Guide the unit in integrating analytics tools into current work
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior Analytics staff in the department
  • Drive initiatives (e.g. training, workshops) towards a data-analytics culture within the unit

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Qualification in Business Analytics, or in a related field with substantial coverage in Analytics
  • At least 2 years hands on experience in an Analytics role (descriptive / diagnostic / predictive)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
  • Proficient in or Experience with Natural Language Processing – including Text and Sentiment Mining
  • Proficient in Statistical and Data Analysis
  • Practical experience in at least one of the following tools:
  • Data Visualization tools such Power BI / Tableau
  • Open-source data mining tools such as Python and R
  • Enterprise grade mining tools such as SAS, SPSS and JMP
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role in an Analytics project.
  • Knowledge and relevant professional experience in programming languages (such as .Net, Java, Python etc.) as well as SQL based RDBMS (e.g. MySQL, Oracle), specifically knowledge and experience of the SQL language will be an added advantage.

  • Strong analysis skills, with an inclination to discover new findings, or to identify potentially new and useful analytics projects
