Job Description

The successful candidate will work in the laboratory of Xue Shifeng. Our laboratory investigates the functions of epigenetic regulators in embryonic development and the consequences of mutations in congenital diseases. We use a variety of models including zebrafish, mice and human cells. This project is aimed at understanding the mechanisms of epigenetic memory. 

The main responsibilities of the position include

• Designing and executing experiments related to epigenetics
• Guiding junior members including PhD students and research assistants

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:

• PhD in molecular biology, genetics, developmental biology or related fields
• Fresh PhD holders welcomed

Skills:

• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and able to work well in a team
• Motivated and independent
• Organized, dedicated and reliable
• Critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by publications, conference presentations or patents

Experience:  

• Excellent knowledge and skill in molecular biology
• Knowledge and interest in epigenetics regulation
• Experience with generating and analysing NGS data or performing genome-wide screens will be an advantage
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and/ or vertebrate animal models preferred
