The Birmingham College of Food at University College Birmingham is an industry leader in culinary education, with state of the art kitchens and realistic working environments.

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Lecturer to join us!! You will have credible industry experience and demonstrable skills to promote the activities of the Adopt a School programmes in order to raise greater awareness in both education and culinary circles. 

We are developing our outreach projects with the community and West Midlands Combined Authority. The Adopt a School programmes will allow the College of Food to raise greater awareness in healthy eating in both education and the wider community. Founded in 1990, the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts ‘Adopt a School Trust’ (AAS) is a national charity delivering food education in schools.

The suitable candidate will work with local schools with the aim of passing on their knowledge and expertise and promote greater awareness in both education and culinary circles.

  • Essential requirements for this role include:
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Experience of engaging and training within a teaching or professional setting.
  • High level of organisation and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently, to take the initiative, and to be innovative.
